Integrity and honesty is questionable at Rod Baker Ford. My son was shopping for a 2021 Explorer ST in the 30K to 40K range. He dealt with Brian on a red one that drove well and was fairly clean. Until we looked underneath the vehicle. The oil pan was leaking oil. The left exhaust pipe was leaking exhaust and the right converter was cracked and leaking exhaust. We asked if they could fix both items under the vehicle warranty. Brian’s sales manager stated that unless the vehicle has a check engine light they won’t replace the converter. They also would not fix the oil leak until we bought it and returned 30 days later. Then Brian stated if you don’t buy it someone less knowledgeable will buy it.
So Rod Baker Ford will sell you a vehicle with exhaust and oil leaks. Allowing someone to drive off with carbon monoxide entering the cabin. CO is undetectable odor the is harmful to anyone’s health.
We visited 3 other Ford dealers, Westfield Ford, Huntley Ford and Napleton Ford were willing to fix vehicle issues before we drove it off the lot.
Rod Baker Ford will not get any of our business because of the type of integrity, unwillingness to assist and dishonesty we experienced.
I had a great experience working with this dealership. Anthony was my sales consultant. He was very accommodating. From making sure I was comfortable to making every process was simple and easy. There was definitely no pressure environment for myself. I can easily recommend this dealership with the experience I had.
Bought a new Bronco. Was a great experience. They worked with us on getting a fair price on our Mach E as well as working with several lenders to get us the best rate. No one was pushy with extras. My only complaint is all their cars they install a Pulse Brake light add-on that costs $400, and I would have never chosen to add something like that. All in all, we for sure will be returning in the future. It was much better than the experience we got from another local Ford dealer when we bought our Mach E. I have also used their service department a few times, and they have been great as well.
Vince and the whole team were very professional, attentive and communicative with my oil change and warranty claim. I will only be using them for anything else regarding my 2018 Ford F-150. The location I purchased my car at, left me with a terrible experience and I'm so grateful that Rob Baker Ford restored my trust and expectations of the Ford brand. Rob Baker Ford is amazing and other Chicagoland dealers should look to them for the standard of customer service and quality they should uphold. Simply the best!
I recently purchased a Ford Edge at Rod Baker Ford. I was extremely happy with my experience there. My salesman was Don Sulejmani. He was extremely helpful throughout the sale, communicating with me in a timely manner throughout the whole process. He was able to find the car I was looking for and I feel their pricing was fair for the new car as well as for my trade-in of a 2016 Edge. There were no high pressure tactics used to push me to make decisions before I was ready to finalize the purchase, which I appreciate. This is the third car I have purchased from Rod Baker Ford and will definitely go back there again as well as recommend them to friends and family.
My significant other and I had a great experience here. We purchased from out of state and the process was easy to navigate. Joe did an amazing job for the buying experience out of state with our vehicle. He sent a video immediately and was quick to response with our quick timing of wanting to purchase a vehicle. When he wasn’t in, other members were also kind and professional to assist. Tho we are still waiting on minor discrepancies, this company works with you and Joe was absolutely amazing throughout the whole process. We will be considering this dealership again in the future over many we’ve dealt with in Indianapolis.
Stellar service!!! If you haven’t used the mobile unit for service, I highly recommend it. They came out to my home, diagnosed the issue in my driveway, picked it up, and returned it to my home. No inconvenience to me whatsoever. In the meantime we purchased a new commercial truck for our business which went smoothly. No pushing, no badgering, and straight to the point. This is best I’ve felt about a dealership in a long time. Thank you!
Overall, our experience with Rod Baker Ford was subpar. Their service department lacks effective communication and their service technicians lack attention to detail and thoroughness.
Our 2023 Bronco was scheduled for service to resolve a warranty issue with the back portion of the hardtop. We ran into several different problems associated with resolving this issue. Firstly, the service advisor did not accurately submit the warranty claim to Ford resulting in the hardtop being installed without the headliner. This is because Rod Baker Ford did not believe us that our Bronco was purchased with the headliner. This lead to multiple days of miscommunication between us and the service department who insisted this could not be true. They should have inquired as to all the options the truck came with so that all parts were ordered from the beginning. This would have made the job done right, which is what I would expect from Rod Baker Ford. Many times over, it was clear to us that the communication methods utilized by Rod Baker Ford are ineffective and lead to the problem worsening over time.
Secondly, the installation of the hardtop was poorly done. The first time we tried to pick-up the vehicle, not only was the headliner not installed, the cover for the glass hinges were both broken. After the headliner and hinge covers were ordered and installed a week later, we tried to pick-up the vehicle a second time, and the rear wiper was not connected. We are still unsure if the rear defroster works. These all prove that the "quality care inspection" was not done. On top of that, the hardtop has uncleanable oil smudges from the installer. It is clear the service department lacks attention-to-detail resulting in low-quality repairs.
We tried communicating our concerns to service advisor, shop manager, and even the general manager, as we saw on Google reviews that he welcomes customer feedback, but our concerns we never addressed. We are very disappointed in the quality of work Rod Baker Ford does, and we do not plan on returning to this facility for any additional service or to purchase a vehicle in the future.
